Do you do some navigating already but would like to learn more or perhaps you struggle in poorer visibility conditions? If so then this 2 day Navigation Course will provide you with the knowledge and practice to give you more confidence in those trickier navigation situations.

You`ll get plenty of opportunities to practice these new skills on a variety of terrain in Snowdonia. If you find poor visibility conditions too challenging to navigate in or lack the confidence to go into the mountains on such days, then this is the course for you.

As we move into winter (October to Febraury inclusive), we also use the shorter days to practice night navigation. This means a late start and finish on the first day.

What are the pre-requirements for this course?

You must have mountain walking experience and have used maps in navigating. You should be able to take a basic compass bearing. Over the first session of the course we review the navigation essentials to establish everyone at the same level.

£120 per person course only

From £160 per person including 2 nights accommodation on a self catering basis, based on 2 people sharing

From £180 per person including 2 nights accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis, based on 2 people sharing, also available with single supplement from £200 per person

This course includes two days of instruction, assessment and guiding by a qualified mountain leader and first aider. The course operates on a maximum ratio of 4 clients to 1 instructor to ensure appropriate focus for each client.
