Snowdon Horseshoe - guided mountain walk
Enjoy one of Britain's finest ridge walks.
From the awe inspiring ridges of Crib Goch and Crib Y Dysgl to the twin summits of Y Lliwedd, the last of the four mountains we climb, the Snowdon horseshoe should be on every mountain walkers' tick list.
We head out first tackling Crib Goch, where you'll need a head for heights as we traverse this famous exposed ridge with steep drops on either side. From here we drop into Bwlch Goch before ascending Crib y Dysgyl and Carnedd Ugain. Continuing along the ridge and reaching the summit of Snowdon, you'll be full of satisfaction looking back to where you've come from.
From Snowdon, we descend the scree of the Watkin path to Bwlch Saethau and as local legend has it, where King Arthur was killed in a hail of arrows. The last climb to Y Lliwedd can feel long and hard, but the views from the summit of the whole horseshoe make it worthwhile.
As we push on to the final descent into Pen Y Pass, your mind is already full of memories. Time permitting you can celebrate at the famous Pen-Y-Gwryd hotel, where the 1953 Everest team stayed during their training in North Wales.
The Snowdon horseshoe takes from six to eight hours depending on the group and weather conditions.
You'll leave with a sense of achievement, a mountain workout and a big grin! If you think this might not be you just yet, then join us on the Nantlle Ridge for a taste of Snowdonia's ridges.

"Thank you for a great day out. Without your calm guidance and the confidence you gave us I don't think I'd have faced and overcome one of the biggest challenges in all my years of hillwalking, Crib Goch. The Snowdon Horseshoe was a very enjoyable experience and one to remember." Paul
"Thank you so much for a truly wonderful time. We were very grateful for your calm and re-assuring guidance along what was our first crossing of Crib Goch, we wouldn’t have felt nearly so comfortable if we hadn’t had your prior instructions and on-going support as we traversed the ridge. Your guidance was exactly what we needed and helped to make a truly incredible day for us both. We most certainly will be seeing you again for another trip very soon………………many thanks ! “
